(INDIANAPOLIS) - Officials with the Indiana Black Expo say preparations for the 37th summer celebration have gone smoothly. The event will be held in Downtown Indianapolis from July 12-22.

Officials say extra police will be on hand to help visitors find their way around. There are 66,000 parking spaces downtown.

Organizers suggest people plan their driving and walking route into and through downtown ahead of time, enter downtown from the side on which you plan to park and carpool or use IndyGo if possible.

A curfew for young people will be strictly enforced. Those 14 and under will have to be in by 11pm. Those who are 15, 16 or 17 must be in by 11pm Sunday through Thursday and cannot be out before 5am Friday through Sunday, they must be in by 1am and not out before 5am.

Exceptions to the curfew rule are those who are involved in a church or school activity and those who are accompanied by a parent or a guardian.

Violators will be taken to a community center, where parents or guardians will have to go to pick up the youngster.
