(BLOOMINGTON) - An Indiana State Police cruiser that was struck Thursday by another vehicle marks the third collision in 44 hours to send a trooper to a hospital.

45-year-old Master Trooper Kurt Feather, who was a passenger in the cruiser, received treatment at a Bloomington Hospital for back injuries.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Joe Watts says the cruiser was approaching a traffic stop on State Road 37 near Bloomington and had moved into the passing lane to slow down other approaching vehicles. That's when it was struck by the flatbed truck.

The accident follows a crash that seriously injured a state trooper on Interstate 465 in Indianapolis Wednesday--and another incident that injured a trooper and five other people in Daviess County on Tuesday.
