(GEORGETOWN) - Wounded Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputy Joel White is now recovering at the Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital in New Albany.

Meanwhile, a fundraising effort to help the families of White and slain Deputy Frank Denzinger is already very successful. T-shirts honoring Denzinger and White have moved briskly since they were offered for sale at the New Albany Police Department beginning Monday.

More than 500 shirts, at $10 dollars apiece, had been sold by 1:00PM yesterday. An additional 1,100 shirts have already been ordered.

New Albany Police Detective Perry Parsons says the response is tremendous from the public and fellow officers. He says police departments from the southern half of Indiana and Louisville Metro Police are calling wanting to buy the shirts.

The shirts bear replicas of the two men's badges surrounded by the words, "never forgotten, never walk alone."

White and Denzinger were shot June 18th after responding to a call near Georgetown, Indiana.

Police say the suspect, 15-year-old Tyler Dumstorf shot himself to death after shooting the officers.
