Naturalist Offering Teen Program
(UNDATED) - A study shows that today’s youth spend an average of 44 hours a week in front of a video screen, creating a generation that could be disconnected from nature.
John Schaust, naturalist with Carmel-based Wild Birds Unlimited, says his company has teamed up with the Audubon Society and National Fish and Wildlife Federation for a program called Pathways to Nature for Kids.
The goal is to get kids into 30 summer nature camps across the country.
Wild Birds is sponsoring 200 kids per year for the next two years to connect with nature and also have free play to enhance the imagination.
