(INDIANAPOLIS) - A canola oil created by Indianapolis-based Dow Agrosciences will now be used at CKE Restaurants chains, including the Hardee’s franchise.

Omega-9 canola oil allows CKE to eliminate trans fat from its fried menu items.

Dow Agrosciences says the oil also has the lowest saturated fat levels among trans fat alternatives.

The switch to omega-9 is scheduled to be complete by January 2008.
