(GREENSBURG) - Two teenagers face criminal charges for faking a kidnapping in a Greensburg Wal-Mart parking lot.

Police Chief Bill Meyerrose says his department got calls from several witnesses saying they saw a woman screaming for help and being forced into a white pickup truck.

Officers later tracked down the pickup truck and arrested an 18-year-old man and his 16-year-old girlfriend on disorderly conduct charges.

The couple apparently staged the abduction as a joke, but the police chief isn't laughing. He says kidnapping reports are serious business.
