Lack Of Rain A Concern For Farmers

(UNDATED) - May is normally one of the rainiest months of the year, but rainfall in most of western and central Indiana is two inches below normal.
That is causing concern for some farmers. The hay crop has been hardest hit by the dry conditions.
USDA Farm Service director Roger Bailey says the first hay cutting is well below normal for central Indiana. Bailey says hay farmers need about two inches of rain in the next two weeks to salvage a decent second cutting later this summer.
