(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis’ Clowes Hall played host to nearly 20 local performing arts groups Monday, but although there were many performers, the spotlight wasn’t the only thing they shared; they also shared a common goal.

The groups were volunteering their time to raise money for the Indiana Aids Fund.

In its thirteenth year, the fundraiser has raised $1.6 million, and was expected to top the $2 million dollar mark by the end of Monday's performance. The money is used to fund HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and treatment programs across Indiana. The benefit continues to grow.

Rob Macpherson is co-artistic director for the event. "We were all losing a whole bunch of friends in the arts community to this horrible disease, and so we just came together to do what we could. And, it's grown for (nearly) the past fifteen years into raising $500,000 a year," explains Macpherson.
