(MICHIGAN CITY) - It’s now up to Governor Daniels to decide the fate of a death row inmate.

The State Parole Board voted unanimously Monday to recommend against clemency for David Leon Woods. The 42-year-old admits he stabbed a 77-year-old neighbor multiple times during a 1984 robbery.

Unless Daniels or a court intervenes, Woods will die May 4th by lethal injection. His attorneys argue Woods' life should be spared because of his limited mental capacity, horrific upbringing and inadequate trial lawyers.
