Survey Asks If Indy Needs A Rapid Transit System
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Walker Information in Indianapolis is currently conducting a survey on rapid transit possibilities in Central Indiana.
Senior consultant Chris Woolard says the survey is a follow-up to a study last year.
Woolard says the survey is being distributed to an email list acquired from the Indianapolis mayor's office. It asks whether respondents feel a rapid transit system is needed in the Indianapolis region, whether they feel the area has a traffic congestion problem and what the effect of a rapid transit system would be on things like the environment, crime and property values. It also asks about the different types of rapid transit and gathers views on those types.
Last year's survey revealed that 91 percent of those responding felt that the Indianapolis region did need a rapid transit system.
