(MARION) - Police say they believe they know why an Indianapolis man walked into a motorcycle club in Marion and opened fire Sunday.

Marion Police Chief David Gilbert says 23-year old Otis Donald went to the Black Dragons Motorcycle Club with the intent of shooting another man with whom he'd had a dispute over a woman.

Gilbert says Donald missed his intended target and instead hit 23 year old Lamar Cannon. Gilbert says it appears Cannon tried to intervene before Donald opened fire.

Gilbert admits there have been complaints to police about the motorcycle club, which has recently split in two.
