Delaware Man Caught With Family In Tow
(BRAZIL) - Indiana State Police picked up a Delaware man that was accused of abducting his ex-girlfriend and 5 kids.
Sergeant Joe Watts says the family was reported missing late Monday night from Newark, Delaware. Troopers spotted a white Mitsubishi, driven by 39-year-old Ruben Santana, on I-70 in Clay County Tuesday afternoon.
Police stopped the car and took Santana, along with his passengers, into custody.
Investigators have since learned that while Santana's ex girlfriend and children came along willingly, Santana was in violation of a protection order against him. He is now awaiting extradition to Delaware.
Watts says Santana had planned to drive the family to California.
The children range in age from 5-12. An Amber Alert was not issued for the children.
Santana now faces 6 counts of violating a domestic violence protective order.
