(GRIFFITH) - Following a high speed chase, police have arrested three people accused of a Griffith double murder.

Authorities say the men are connected to slayings at Sopranos Restaurant and Lounge. Gonzalo Diaz of Hammond and James Walsh of Chicago are the first homicide victims in the city in more than 12 months.

Police say the shooters were sitting in a car outside the club and opened fire when Diaz and Walsh exited. The men sped away from police on the Borman Expressway and fled on foot when they reached Hammond.

A police dog helped track the men and take them into custody.
