Counties Stop Checking Auto Emissions
Last updated on Wednesday, January 03, 2007
(UNDATED) - Two southern Indiana counties have stopped checking emissions from vehicles.
Clark and Floyd counties both now meet federal standards for federal ozone air quality and have shut down a program called "Clean Air Car Check." Vehicles in those counties had been examined to determine how much pollution they were putting out.
Neighboring states like Illinois require all cars to undergo such a check each year.
