State's Future Ecomony Examined
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Business leaders from across Indiana converged on Indianapolis to discuss the future of the state’s economy.
The seminar called "new economy, new rules" focused on how Indiana can compete, in the global marketplace.
Officials say the state has long depended on manufacturing as a main source of economic development. But, in their words, those jobs are disappearing and the attitude has to change.
Officials say teaching kids at a young age that they have many options, in terms of higher education and jobs, is one key to competing. Another is encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit.
