Cummings Adds 600 Jobs
Last updated on Thursday, October 12, 2006
(COLUMBUS) - Cummins Engine Company’s announcement it will add 600 jobs in Columbus gives Indiana an economic victory at a time when the state’s manufacturing base had been turning wobbly.
With hard times at Ford and GM trickling down to their suppliers, Indiana has lost 700 manufacturing jobs this year.
Indiana Manufacturers Association president Pat Kiely says the state's actually outperforming its neighbors.
