More Effort Needed To Keep Teens In School
(INDIANAPOLIS) - A new report released by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce indicates more work needs to be done to keep teens from dropping out of high school.
The report was prepared by the Sagamore Institute for Policy Research and shows the drop out rate has been miscalculated for the past 10 years.
Recent action by the legislature raised the drop out age to 18 and this year an alternative way to graduate will allow students to return to ivy tech community college and earn a high school diploma as opposed to a GED certificate.
