Last updated on Monday, August 28, 2006
(MADISON) - State fire officials say it may take some time to determine what caused a fire in Madison’s historic district Friday.
The blaze began at the local Eks lodge and damaged four other buildings.
Agents from the federal office of Acohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were on the scene Friday to help state and local fire investigators determine the cause.
Two firefighters were hospitalized with injuries, and 42 were treated for heat exhaustion.
