(PETERSBURG) - Pike County prosecutors have formally charged the girlfriend of a triple-murder suspect for allegedly helping him elude capture.

Twenty-one-year old Misty Davis faces one felony count of assisting a criminal and a misdemeanor count of false informing.

Prosecutors say Davis helped 23-year old Nicholas Harbison elude authorities by telling his stepmother to lie to police about his whereabouts.

The felony charge carries up to eight years in prison if Davis is convicted.

Harbison is accused of killing three people and wounding another on July 17.
