AMA Alerts Medicare Recipients
Last updated on Thursday, August 24, 2006
(INDIANAPOLIS) - The American Medical Association has paid a house call to Indiana to draw attention to cuts in doctors’ Medicare reimbursements taking effect next year.
AMA board member Ardis Hoven says drastic Medicare reimbursement cuts to physicians are set to kick in January 1st.
The AMA says two-thirds of that reimbursement money goes to keep doctors' offices open to Medicare patients, and warns seniors could be denied care.
