New Policy For Police Chases On County Roads
Last updated on Tuesday, July 25, 2006
(GREENWOOD) - A new policy will stop some police chases from taking place after a patrol car was totaled during a chase earlier this year.
Greenwood Police Chief Joe Pitcher says officers are no longer allowed to pursue people who flee from them on some county roads out of the city to the south and west.
Pitcher notes that the roads are in such disrepair the chases are inherently hazardous for the officers.
