(MARTINSVILLE) - Martinsville city officials want Governor Mitch Daniels to visit the city so they can personally tell him how they feel about the I-69 extension plans through the town.

After a state highway department official did not appear at a recent city council meeting to explain Daniels' proposal to run the I-69 extension on existing Hwy 37 as a toll road, the board voted unanimously to get Daniels to come to Martinsville.

Residents had earlier voted 119-1 to reject Daniels proposal.
