Man Accused Of Killing Wife, Child, Gets Plea Agreement

(Charlestown) - A Clark County man accused of killing his pregnant wife and 11-month old son last year has reached a plea agreement.
28-year old Zachariah Melcher will plead guilty to three counts of murder in exchange for the death penalty being dropped. Instead, the plea agreement calls for Melcher to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The agreement must still be approved by a judge.
Police say Meclher admitted to killing his family in April 2005. The bodies of 23-year old Christian Melcher and 11-month old Christain were found in a plastic container at the family's apartment.
