(BLOOMFIELD) - Governor Daniels has appointed Clay County’s Chief Deputy Prosecutor the new Circuit Judge in neighboring Greene County.
Chip Allen's appointment comes weeks after Republican precinct leaders picked him to replace Judge David Johnson on the fall election ballot.
Johnson resigned to take a seat on the State Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. Allen takes the bench July 31, and will face Democrat Joseph Sullivan in November for a full four-year term.
