Two Hoosiers Fall In National Spell Bee

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Two of Indiana’s 14 contestants in the National Spelling Bee made it to the second day of competition but they fell short of the event’s prime-time finals.
Sameer Mishra of West Lafayette was the last Hoosier standing, going out on "diallelus," meaning circular logic.
Doreen Xu of Indianapolis handled "neuromyelitis," but stumbled over "delsartian," referring to a french system of calisthenics.
