Lobbying Groups Want To Scrap New Medicare
Last updated on Wednesday, June 07, 2006
(UNDATED) - Two lobbying groups for Indiana senior citizens are pushing Congressional candidates to promise to tear up the new Medicare drug benefit and start over.
United Senior Action and the Indiana Alliance for Retired Americans want to scrap the dozens of competing private plans in favor of a single Medicare-run drug plan.
The group will keep its 14,000 members posted through its newsletter about which U.S. House candidates have signed a pledge to do it.
