Graves: No Alarm For Scarlet Fever

(UNDATED) - State health officials say they’re investigating a Demotte eight-year-old’s death two weeks ago from scarlet fever, but they say two more cases of the disease are not cause for alarm.
Charlene Graves is the state's medical director for childhood communicable diseases. She says scarlet fever is just a particular strain of strep infection, and says it'll eventually run its course, faster now that school is out for the summer and there are fewer opportunities for it to spread.
