Coroner Releases I.U. Student's Cause Of Death
(LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY) - A Louisville Deputy Coroner says an I.U. student who died following a fraternity function in April passed away due to natural causes.
Robert Fraction says Christine Wampler died from myocarditis, a heart infection often caused by a virus. The junior from Portage died following a dance held by the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity at the Seelbach hotel.
Fraction says alcohol did not play a role in Wampler's death. The 21-year old was one of two I.U. students to die within a week of one another.
Nichole Birky of Jonesboro was found dead in her bed just four days before Wampler passed away.
