(NEW ALBANY) - One of Indiana’s two remaining state centers for the developmentally disabled closes its doors Friday.

For 32 years, New Albany's Silvercrest Center has been a diagnostic-and-treatment center for children with developmental disabilities.

In the six months since the shutdown was announced, case managers have been working with about 60 families on home and community-based care plans.

The last two kids at the center left Friday.
