(UNDATED) - Today is Memorial Day, a day to remember sacrifice.
Indiana 8th District Congressman John Hostettler has written a Memorial Day Editorial Opinion and says for tens of thousands of Americans, including families in Indiana's 8th District, this Memorial Day takes on a new significance.
"These families and friends will mark the day with a mix of wrenching heartache, loss and pride that arise when someone dear makes the ultimate sacrifice in the service of his or her country. As a result, Americans can celebrate this Memorial Day in relative prosperity and peace. Their sacrifice should stir in us genuine gratitude. Their deaths gave life to the liberty we enjoy."
