New State Laws For Fireworks

(UNDATED) - With Memorial Day weekend looming, Indiana fire officials are reminding the public that there are some new laws in place for the use of fireworks.
State Fire Marshall Roger Johnson says, in the past, the laws were "scoffed at" by the public.
Now, fireworks can be set off on private property or by someone who has consented to the use of their property.
Age restrictions are in place, with only those over the age of 18 being allowed to purchase fireworks.
Johnson also detailed certain curfews that are now in place, dictating that fireworks can only be set off between 9:00 am and 11:00 pm, except during special holidays, including Memorial Day, Labor Day, New Year's Eve, and July 4th.
