Movie Star To Be Honored In Madison

(MADISON) - Madison will dedicate a state historical marker to honor 1930s movie star Irene Dunne.
Dunne was born in Kentucky but spent her teen years in Madison.
She helped fund the restoration of the city's Broadway Fountain in 1976, 24 years after her last film.
Dunne was nominated for Oscars for "The Awful Truth," "I Remember Mama," "Love Affair," "Cimarron" and "Theodora Goes Wild." She also starred in "Life With Father," "Penny Serenade" and the first film version of "Show Boat."
Officials will dedicate the marker in front of the historic Ohio Theatre a week from Friday. Dunne died in 1990 at age 91.
