Little 500 To Be Held In Anderson
(ANDERSON) - The cousin of the Indianapolis 500 is set for Saturday night in Anderson.
The world's richest pavement sprint car race, the 58th Payless Little 500, takes place at Anderson Speedway. Thirty-three sprint cars will line up in eleven rows of three, much like the Indy 500.
Qualifying was held Thursday and will take place today and a free racing program is also set for tonight. Four-time Indy 500 winner A.J. Foyt once called the start of the Little 500 the most exciting race start he's ever seen.
Around 10,000 people from all over the country are expected to attend the Little 500, which inspired a festival in the 1980's that's raised thousands of dollars for charity.
