Teachers Attend Financial Seminar

(INDIANAPOLIS) - About 85 teachers from across Indiana are attending a
Seminar at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum on how to teach 3rd, 4th and
5th grade elementary students how to be financially responsible.
The program is sponsored by the Networks Financial Institute, which is an outreach program of Indiana State University.
Executive director Liz Coit says financial literacy is important in the lower grades because a person's spending habits are usually established by age 10. Coit says today's media bombards kids with many ways to spend money, and with good reason. Teenagers spend 175 billion dollars a year.
