Meningitis High Risk For High School Seniors

(UNDATED) - As high school seniors approach graduation, they’re also approaching an increased risk of contracting meningitis if they’re heading off to college.
That's why visiting nurse services is offering clinics that provide vaccinations against the disease. Anyone between the ages of eleven and fifty-five can get the vaccination, but immunizations project manager Judy Moon says the clinics are targeting high school seniors.
Meningitis is a potentially deadly disease that is often mistaken for the flu. Many area schools are also hosting clinics. A complete list can be found at www.vnsi.org
