Forecasts Predicting Wet Spring

(UNDATED) - Weather forecasters are telling farmers it could be a wet spring.

Climatologists say cooling waters in the Pacific Ocean could mean an unusually wet planting season. Precipitation has been about 40 percent above average already and the next two months may be similar.

Purdue Agricultural Economist Mike Boehlje says a wet spring could create a crunch time for farmers trying to plant corn in-between dry periods forcing some to switch to soybeans with a shorter growing period.
