Check For Ticks When Heading Outside
(UNDATED) - The warmer weather has Hoosiers heading outdoors, and State Veterinary Epidemiologist Dr. James Howell says ticks also like the rising temperatures.
Howell says he's already found ticks on his pets this spring.
He advises people to use insect repellent that contains deet and wear long pants tucked in your socks so the ticks can't get to your skin.
Howell says after you've been out in tall grass or wooded areas you need to do a body check to make sure none has taken hold.
