2006 Village Idiot Chosen

(STORY) - The Brown County town of Story has named a part-time Indiana University student its 2006 Village Idiot.
Thomas Doane is a bartender at the town's Story Inn Tavern, which awards the coveted prize each year.
Doane's nomination cites incidents like his sleeping on a median of a highway in Portland, Oregon while working as a roadie for a band and injuring his foot while working barefoot on a tin roof.
Doane says he's slowly working his way through I.U. and actually scored very well on his SATs. He also wins a $100 bar tab as part of his prize.
