I.U. Pom Squad May Be No More

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Indiana University Pom Squad will be no more if school officials follow through with a new plan.

The university says it plans to eliminate the pom squad as a cost-cutting measure, but says the move is not permanent.

The school will keep its two cheerleading teams for the 2006-2007 school year, however.

Current poms have launched an online petition to raise support for keeping their team alive. The petition may be found at www.petitiononline.com/IUPoms/petition.html.
