Last updated on Monday, February 13, 2006
BLOOMINGTON—A former fraternity house where composer Hoagy Carmichael once played is planned to be demolished and several historic preservation groups are trying to stop the destruction.
The Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission is wanting to designate the building a historic structure.
Officials at I.U. say the structure is a safety hazard. The 80-year-old house once was home to the Kappa Sigma fraternity.
