(INDIANAPOLIS) - White River State Park is home to a variety of permanent public art pieces. It will install its newest sculpture, "Don't Forget Us" by artist Nathan S. Pierce on Mon., Apr. 15 at 2 p.m. along the Old Washington State Bridge.

Pierce's inspiration for the piece is a spirit of connectedness. He shares, "I love the surprise that we get from seeing out of the ordinary things in ordinary places. Public art should interact with our imaginations and the landscape. Please imagine this sculpture as the answer to connecting with those who are far away from us, both mentally and physically. Being able to understand one another helps us build a stronger scene of community and place.

We welcome all to enjoy this wonderful addition as well as the many other art pieces that can be found throughout the park."

Nathan S. Pierce will attend the installation ceremony on Mon. Apr. 15 at 2 p.m. and will be available for a brief meet and greet.
