Public Information Meeting Regarding Improvements Project On State Road 261 In Newburgh

(NEWBURGH) - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will host a public information meeting regarding an intersection improvement project on State Road 261 and Fruitwood Lane in Newburgh, Warrick County.

The purpose of the project is to enhance safety by reconstructing the intersection to allow right in and right out access only, restricting other turning movements.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Castle High School, 3344 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN 47630. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and be held in the community room.

The meeting will feature a brief presentation followed by an informal open house session where project team members will be available to address questions. Prior to the meeting, project information will be posted to the INDOT website, Vincennes District page at https://www.in.gov/indot/2707.htm.

With advance notice, INDOT can arrange accommodations for persons with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services such as an ASL signer/interpreter and alternative format materials. The Vincennes District is responsible for maintaining 4,425 lane miles of state roads, 784 lane miles of interstate, 1,849 large culverts, 20,000 small culverts, 1,085 state bridges, 142 snow routes, 260 traffic signals, 186 flashers, 57,000 road signs, and 1,310-panel signs.

There are five sub-districts (Evansville, Linton, Paoli, Tell City and Vincennes) and 16 counties (Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Greene, Knox, Lawrence, Martin, Orange, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Sullivan, Vanderburgh and Warrick) within the Southwest District.
