(INDIANAPOLIS) - Work to repair the bridge deck of northbound I-65 over Little Buck Creek near the Southport Rd. interchange (mile marker 103) will finish today.
Crews will reopen all northbound lanes of I-65 as well as entrance ramps from Southport Rd. by 4 p.m.
Beginning overnight around 2 a.m., crews will begin work to repair the deck of the southbound bridge. The right two lanes of southbound I-65 will be closed as will the exit ramp to Southport Rd and the entrance ramp from Southport Rd to southbound I-65. Repair work on the southbound bridge is expected to be complete and lanes reopened in advance of the afternoon rush hour on Thursday.
Southbound I-65 traffic should expect long delays during the overnight, morning and midday hours. Motorists should seek alternate routes. I-65 traffic from the north should consider using U.S. 31. Southbound I-65 motorists intending to exit at Southport Rd. should consider using I-465 to either U.S. 31 or Emerson Ave. to reach Southport Rd. Motorists intending to enter southbound I-65 from Southport Rd. should use U.S. 31 or Emerson Ave. to County Line Rd. to access I-65.
