Boy, 14 Might Face Murder Charges In Adult Court

Last updated on Thursday, December 20, 2018

(CUMBERLAND) - Prosecutors want to transfer a 14-year-old boy to adult court in the fatal shooting of a man at a suburban Indianapolis store.

The boy was informed of murder and robbery charges Wednesday, nine days after 37-year-old Gregory Raley was killed outside a Dollar General store in Cumberland. Police say Raley was shot when he realized the store was being robbed. His fiancée was inside.

The teen's attorney wants him to be examined by a psychiatrist. The Indianapolis Star says a Juvenile Court judge will hold a hearing on Jan. 15 on the request to move the case to adult court in Marion County.

Raley's fiancee, Andrea Manning, wants the case in adult court. She says, "This boy has got to pay."
