Police Identify Man Who Died In Car Crash

(VINCENNES) - Authorities have identified the man who died in a car crash while fleeing police Wednesday in Vincennes.

The deceased his 43-year-old Joseph Joe Robinson. An autopsy was conducted yesterday as part of the investigation.

Robinson did not stop for police who recognized his vehicle as possibly being involved in a felony earlier in the day on Wednesday. He led police on a chase on South 6th in Vincennes until crashing the car near Bandmill Road. He was ejected from the vehicle.

He was carrying a passenger, identified as 31-year-old Heather Brand of Vincennes. She managed to get out of the car before it crashed and was arrested for forgery and theft. The charges stem from the aforementioned crime which initiated the chase.
