Gov. Holcomb Announces Judicial Appointment For Allen County Superior Court

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Gov. Eric J. Holcomb Thursday announced Senior Magistrate David M. Zent as his appointment to the Allen County Superior Court Criminal Division. Judge Zent will succeed Judge John F. Surbeck Jr. who will retire Dec. 31.

Zent currently serves as senior magistrate of the Misdemeanor and Traffic Division of the Allen County Superior Court and has been a magistrate in the Criminal Division since 2015. Prior to becoming a magistrate, Zent was in private practice, worked for the Allen County Public Defender's Office, the Federal Public Defender's Office, and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.

Zent received a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University and his law degree from the University of Dayton. Zent will be sworn in on a date to be determined.
