Statement by Indiana GOP Chairman on Selection of Justin Busch to Fill Senate District 16 Vacancy

Last updated on Wednesday, October 10, 2018

(FORT WAYNE) - Indiana Republican Party State Chairman Kyle Hupfer issued this statement following the selection of Justin Busch to fill the vacancy that will be created by Senate President Pro Temp David Long’s resignation next month:

"As one of the key architects of Indiana's economic transformation, Senator David Long helped orchestrate the policies that took Indiana from a middle-of-the-pack state to its status today as the fiscal envy of the nation. Through his leadership of the Indiana Senate over the last 12 years, Hoosiers have seen the benefits of balanced budgets and responsible government.

"Senator Long is leaving behind some big shoes, but I'm confident that County Councilman Justin Busch will represent northeast Indiana with Senator Long's same sense of passion and service."
