Last updated on Monday, October 29, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Friday, the Small Business Investor Alliance presented its ‘Champion of Small Business Investing’ Award to U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly in recognition of his work on policies that support small businesses in Indiana and across the country.

Donnelly, who serves on the Senate Banking Committee, negotiated and co-wrote the bipartisan Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act, which was signed into law by President Trump in May. The legislation promotes economic growth by making commonsense reforms to increase mortgage and small business lending while protecting consumers.

Donnelly said, "Small businesses are a cornerstone of Indiana's economy, employing nearly half our workers and driving job creation and opportunity in cities and towns, large and small. It is an honor to receive this award from the Small Business Investor Alliance and I will continue working to ensure that small businesses have opportunities to grow and expand because their success is essential to the economic health of our state."

Brett Palmer, SBIA President said, "Senator Donnelly has been an incredible advocate for investment in America's small businesses through his bipartisan work on the Banking Committee. Small business investors empower growth and job creation across the country, and the legislative work of our Small Business Champions in Congress has been instrumental in facilitating greater capital access for Indiana's entrepreneurs."
