Last updated on Tuesday, October 16, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) announced today Heidi Monroe will be its new deputy director of permanency and practice support. In her role, Monroe will provide critical customer service in specialized areas to the field staff of DCS.

"My choice to work for DCS is based on my desire to help children heal and grow from traumatic experiences because every child has the right to a stable, loving and permanent home," Monroe said. "I will help the division of permanency and practice support to develop more robust and streamlined processes in each service area, which will enhance fieldwork and ultimately help Hoosier families grow and develop healthier relationships."

Previously, Monroe served as director of children's services at Meridian Health Services. She also spent two years working at Talbert House as the behavioral health director in Cincinnati.

"Heidi's background will provide incredible and immense support for our agency," DCS director Terry Stigdon said. "I look forward to having her serve in this important role to create a lasting and positive impact on the children and families served by DCS."

Monroe has a bachelor's degree in psychological science from Ball State and a master's degree in public administration from American Public University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in behavioral health management- integrated health from Arizona State University.
