Traffic Stop Yields Large Amount Of Meth In Clark County

(CLARK CO.) - Tuesday, shortly before noon, trooper Andrew Taylor made a traffic stop on a 2005 Nissan Altima in Jeffersonville on 11th Street near Howard Avenue.

The driver, 35-year-old Shane L. Guthrie of Jeffersonville, was stopped for the vehicle displaying a temporary license plate with an obstructed expiration date.

According to ISP Sgt. Jerry D. Goodin, during the traffic stop, officers located approximately 62.37 grams of suspected meth and approximately 7.8 grams of suspected marijuana.

Guthrie was arrested and housed in the Clark County Jail on charges of dealing meth, possession of meth, and trafficking with an inmate and possession of marijuana.

During the traffic stop a white male passenger in the front seat fled the scene and was not located.

Assisting at the scene was Jeffersonville City Police.
